Joe Lake

Joe Lake was born in Graham on Aug. 5, 1941, and he went to be with Lord on April 28, 2020. Interment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson and a Celebration of Life service for Joe will be announced at a later date.

Joe was the last cowboy remaining from the 1963 Bryson cattle drive from Bryson to Breckenridge. 

Joe lived in Bryson his entire life and graduated from BISD in 1959 and went on to McMurry College. He married Nelda Vaughn on Oct. 3, 1969, had a career at Hexcel, then started a dozer service that has continued for 3 generations, followed by many years of cattle ranching.

Joe was the Bryson historian and enjoyed telling stories about Bryson events, providing old pictures and telling stories for hours. Joe kept in touch with his high school classmates and served an instrumental in retaining the arch at BISD when the school was demolished. Joe served on the Bryson school board for many years and was a member of the City Council. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryson.

Joe enjoyed spending a lot of time at Painted Lakes on the porch of the old feed store, which belonged to his Papa and in the 1930s, which had been relocated and opened as a venue and he still enjoyed occasionally running a dozer.

Joe was an unforgettable character loved by so many, and he will be dearly missed. Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Florence Clayton, mother, Nellie B. Bryson and his son, Steve Lake.

Joe is survived by his wife, Nelda; 3 sons, Joe Allen Lake II and wife Janine, Jimmy Lake and wife Kristi and Wade Lake and wife Susan; his sisters Jerry and Henrietta, grandchildren: Bethany Thompson and her husband Christopher, Clint, Haley, Monty, Balinda and Kody Lake.

Ted Burns, 90, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Mineral Wells.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, at Coker Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. The Funeral Service will be Friday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Perrin with a private burial to follow at Bluebonnet Hill Cemetery in Colleyville. With limited space due to COVID-19 distancing protocols for the funeral service, the family strongly encourages those who attend Wednesday’s visitation to refrain from attending the service on Thursday.

Ted was born on Feb. 18, 1930 to William Nelson Burns and Grace Evans Burns in Brownwood. He married the love of his life, Mary Burns on June 16, 1950 in Fort Worth. Ted proudly served his country in the National Guard. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, and bowl where he was the President of the Texas Men’s Bowling Association. He was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Texas Men’s Bowling League. Ted was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Perrin where he served as a Deacon. 

Ted is preceded in death by his parents; son, William “Billy” Clyde Burns; and brother William Burns.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Mary; daughter, Debroah Burns McMillian; grandchildren, Amanda Walter and husband Eric, Justin Green and wife Dianna; great grandchildren, Hailey, Landon, Levi, and Braxton; sister-in-law; Bea Haroldson; Niece, Robin Hunter; Great Nieces, Tyra Hunter and Kari Evans; along with several beloved Cousins.

Tommie Jean Hart

Tommie Jean Hart, known to her friends and family as “TJ” was born Feb. 26, 1957 in Jacksboro. She was the daughter of the Late Thomas Linzy and Janice Marie (Erwin) Hart. She passed away, Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Jacksboro. She was 63 years old.

TJ would help anyone who needed assistance, many times placing their needs above her own.

She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Smith and husband Edward; nephew, Jeremy Smith and wife Tasha; niece, Julie Mathis and husband Shawn; several great nieces and nephews; and uncle, Charles Erwin; Aunt Cherry; and longtime friend, David Craft as well as a host of friends.

Due to current restrictions, the family will hold a private burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Jacksboro Animal Shelter; Grace Baptist Church or Wesley Chapel Cemetery Association.

Donald Joe Lewis

Donald Joe Lewis, 84, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Wichita Falls. He was born June 18, 1935 in Stamford to Joe Lewis and Clara Bell (Clyburn) Lewis. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wichita Falls. Donald was an alumnus of Hardin Simmons University. He enjoyed traveling for business throughout his career, which he started as a reporter for the Abilene Newspaper. Don served as the manager of the Chamber of Commerce of Arlington, he also served on the team that brought the Texas Rangers baseball team to Arlington. Don also served on the Chamber of Commerce of Lubbock, where he advocated for a medical school to be built at Texas Tech University. He loved bettering each community that he served. Don loved spending time with his family and was and avid reader. Don served his country in the United States Army.

A private family service will be held at the graveside in Restland Cemetery in Olney.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Laurie Lewis and her son Jacob Troutz on July 17, 1998.

Don is survived by his daughter Lindy and husband Aaron Bruton of Olney; daughter Lori Forrester and husband Kevin of Lubbock; sister Judy McDonald and husband Jim of Orange; grandchildren Zachary Bruton and wife Brittany of Johnson City, TN, Chelsy Campos and husband Dustin  of Burkburnett, Brianna Beason and husband Wade of San Antonio; great grandchildren Harper and Hadley Campos of Burkburnett, and expecting baby Bruton in October of Johnson City, TN; as well as nephew James McDonald of Orange.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.

Patsy Sue Hale

Patsy Sue (Bailey) Hale was born Dec. 31, 1932 in Newport. She was the daughter of Hugh H. and Juanita M. (Ball) Bailey. Patsy married the Late Billy Hale Sr. Sept. 17, 1949 in Graham. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Patsy loved to crochet and cross stitching and playing the mandolin. She also loved singing the old hymns and was often called upon to sing at funerals, weddings and other occasions. Patsy also loved old western movies, especially if John Wayne was featured. Patsy passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 in Willow Park at the age of 87 years old.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hulan Ray Bailey and her husband, Billy Hale Sr.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elaine Johnson and husband Wayne; Deborah Strain and husband Sunny; Billy Hale Jr. and wife Crystal; 8 grandchildren, Jerry Johnson; Erik Johnson; Ashley Johnson; Cory Strain; Courtney Radford; Fallon Hale; Dalton Hale; Bailey Hale; 6 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lavern Bailey.

Irene Owens, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 15, in Weatherford.

There was a Graveside Service at Gibtown Cemetery on Thursday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Irene was born on Sept. 14, 1927 to J.B. Lewis and Ada Beck (Lewis) in Farmersville. Irene graduated high school at the young age of 16. She went on to marry the love of her life, John Virgil Owens, on Aug. 4, 1945 in Fort Worth. She was a member of Joplin Baptist Church where she also served as Secretary.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son John Owens Jr; brothers, Bill Lewis, Gabe Lewis Jr., Jack Lewis, and Lane Lewis; sisters, Lucille Beck, Mural Lewis Horton, and Jo Claunce. 

Those left behind to cherish her memory are sister in law, Laverne Lewis Prosser; niece Nita, along with several other nieces and nephews.

A very special thanks to her caregivers Sandy Truex and Nora Sanders.

Novella Delcambre, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 25, 2020 in Rockport. There was a Graveside Service at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro on Saturday, May 30, at 11  a.m.

Novella was born on Nov. 13, 1933 in Archer City, to Harry Tillman and Maggie Correne Ivy (Norman). Novella married Carl McAnear on May 24, 2015. She was also a member of Christian Missions Church. 

Novella is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Jackie Joe Ivy; sisters, Jancie Lee Landry, Janice Marie Oney, Nancy Janell Ivy, Alois Kay Kocks, and Cora Mae Woolen. 

Those left behind to cherish her memory are son, Howard Shifflett and wife Glenda of Snyder; daughters, Linda Cox and husband Ernest of Willow, AK., Donna Stotts and husband Chuck of Rockport, and Susan Poncelow and husband Don of Firestone, Colo.; step son Wayne McAnear of Jacksboro; step daughter Carla Swan and husband Roy of Jacksboro; 8 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; sisters Inez Jones and Faye Fleming.

Bernice Hortense Farmer passed away gracefully from here to her heavenly home Monday, May 25, 2020, in Weatherford, surrounded by her family. 

Bernice leaves behind her son, Gerald of Joshua; daughter, Sharon of Perrin; son, Bryan and wife Dena of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Carrie, Kody, Kellie, Bryan, and Bailey; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lula Masterson of Lake Worth and Charleen of Springtown; sister-in-laws, Jesse Mae Farmer and Melba Weaver of Jacksboro; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Truitte; daughter, Linda Carline; mother, and father, Mary and Joseph Patton; brothers, Clyde, Don, Clycie; sisters, Opal and DeLois.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Mat 27, at the funeral home. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home with burial following at Perrin Memorial Gardens.

Tommy Ainsworth, 50, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 in Fort Worth. Funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Morrison Funeral Home. Burial followed in Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Tommy was born March 17, 1970 in Olney to Pamalia LaVon (Jennings) Ainsworth and the late Jearl Wayne Ainsworth. He attended Saginaw, Boswell, and graduated Bryson High School. He married Melissa Fisher, June 8, 2013.

Tommy was self-employed in the oil business and also worked for White Knight Oil.  He was on the Bryson School Board for several years. He enjoyed coaching little league sports in Bryson and Graham. There was not a tool or piece of machinery that he could not operate. Tommy was always right there to help family, friends, or neighbors with any project. He started working in the 6th grade mowing yards and worked after school in the 9th grade and never stopped working.

Survivors include; wife, Melissa Ainsworth of Bryson; daughters, Macayla Cole and husband Roland of Velma, Okla. and Emery Fisher of Bryson; son, Hudson Charles Fisher of Bryson; mother, Pamalia Ainsworth of Graham; brother, Jot Thorne and wife Melanie of Olney; mother-in-law Karon Rice of Graham; sister-in-law Michelle Jones and husband T. Paul of Graham; grandchildren, Kora Elaine Cole; nephews, Preston Jones and wife Savannah, Hunter Jones, Jacob Jones, and Little Jot Thorne; niece, Camden Thorne.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Jearl Wayne Ainsworth and grandparents R.B. and Lois Jennings, Winfred and Margaret Ainsworth.

The family received friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Lillian Ellisene Davis, 78, of La Vernia, passed away among her family on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Born on Dec. 31, 1941 in Jacksboro, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Olive Rumage. Ellisene, is survived by her daughter, Danna Jo Ritter and son-in-law Larry Ray Ritter, grandson, Daniel Ray Ritter and granddaughter, Misti Katherine Webster and her husband Nathan Webster. She is also survived by her brother, Ed and his wife Karen Rumage, their sons and families, Will and Brittni Rumage and sons Cash and Stone Rumage, Blain and Shalie Rumage and their daughter Reese Rumage. Ellisene was preceded in death by her husband Dan Davis, after 40 years of marriage.

Ellisene and Dan were high school sweethearts. They married in 1960 and attended college together. Ellisene earned her BS degree in Home Economics from Texas Technological College. She later supported Dan in his Naval Service in Newport, R.I. and Pensacola, Fla., where their daughter Danna Jo was born. After Dan’s discharge from the Navy they taught school together in Keller, Texas. Ellisene taught earth science, chemistry, health and home economics. Ellisene sponsored the Future Homemakers of America, annual staff, and the Junior Class. She later received a Master of Education from North Texas State University. She also completed work at Texas Women’s University to become qualified to teach the special education students on homebound. She completed work towards her doctoral degree in creative writing from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.

She was an artistic soul, creating was her passion. Ellisene loved to design unique pieces of jewelry, paint, write short stories (both fictional and personal) and play the piano. Ellisene proudly collaborated to write and co-produce a local production of Texanna in Keller and Fort Richardson in Jacksboro. Some of her many short stories and articles were published by Texas Christian University Press and the Texas Folklore Society / Southern Methodist University Press.

After Ellisene’s extended illness, both she and Dan moved to Angel Fire, N.M. in 1997. They both took an active part in the construction and development of the United Church of Angel Fire. Despite the death of her husband in 2000 and her continuing health issues, she stayed active by volunteering at church and with Music from Angel Fire. In 2007, Ellisene moved to San Antonio followed by New Braunfels and finally to La Vernia in order to be close to family. Ellisene enjoyed supporting and teaching her family and the many exceptional care givers that helped her along the way. Her strength of character through crisis, illness, and adversity was her legacy to those around her.

A memorial service is pending and will be held at a later date at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel in New Braunfels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellisene’s name to Concerned Citizens of Jack County, a non profit organization that serves the needs of the elderly and disabled in Jack County @ 400 East Pine, Jacksboro, Texas 76458.

Joan Florence Forsan, 81, tased away Wednesdaym June 17, 2020 in Jacksboro.

A funerservice was held Friday, June 19, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Joan was born Feb. 19, 1939 in Mount Clemens, Mich. to Fred Milton Quick and Elizabeth Moody Quick. She was a training manager for Avon Products, Inc. for over 20 years. Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro, the Adult 5 Sunday School class, the Red hat Society, and the Faith Community Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother James and Lloyd Quick.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, James Font, Donna Jo Misener ad adopted daughter Sue Anne Miller; grandchildren Penny Dalton, Elizabeth Miller, and Mary Anne Miller.

Jimmy Carl “J.C.” May passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the age of 76. He was born February 26, 1944 in Willard, New Mexico. J.C. served in the National Guard, and was a mechanic for many years, retiring from the City of Jacksboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lois Smith, R.C. May and granddaughter Shelby Lang.

Loved by many, J.C. is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bunny May of Jacksboro; siblings, Mark May and wife Paula of Chicago. Max May and wife Nancy of Dewey, Okla., Larry May and wife Jenell of Jacksboro, and Susan Rhodes and husband. Thomas of Jacksboro; children, Sandy Peevey and husband Scotty, grandchildren Mindy Forbus, Kayla Forbus, Michael Forbus, Katie Forbus and great grandson Riley Abernethy. Dusty Dunn, wife Monica, grandchildren Dominic Dunn, Damien Dunn and Dezmond Dunn. James May, wife Jaci, grandchildren James King, Melody May, Darla May, Amanda McCrary and Nicole Best. Earl “Bubba” May, grandchild Brandon May. Krystle McCleney, husband Rick, grandchildren Joseph Lang, Cierra Lang, Krystin Stell and great grandson Quintin Daigle as well as many other extended family members and loving friends.

J.C. enjoyed dove hunting with long time and devoted friend Danny Weddle. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Bunny, her parents Mauro and Dorothy Gibson and her siblings. They traveled to destinations such as Maui, Hawaii,Cozumel, Mexico, Branson, Mo. and the coast of California. J.C. will be fondly remembered for his stern exterior but tender heart, his green thumb and his love of coffee and puzzles.

A memorial service was held on 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksboro.

Anne Carpenter Dutton,83, passed away June 8, 2020. She was born July 23, 1936 to Pearla and Syrell Carpenter and raised in Plano. She married the love of her life, Lendon Dutton, in 1959. Anne taught English until she and Lendon started their family, and then she devoted herself to being a mother to her three children. Anne and Lendon moved to Jacksboro in 1973 and resided there until the time of her death. She was also an adoring and adored Mimi to four grandchildren.

Anne was an artist. She loved and excelled at many different mediums. She painted gorgeous watercolors, oil paintings, and abstract mixed media pictures. She sculpted clay, designed and cast silver jewelry, and made fused glass. She was an avid fan of theater and enjoyed supporting the arts.

She is survived by her husband Lendon Dutton, her son Jeff Dutton and his wife Melissa Dutton and their children Lendon and Ali, her daughter, D’Anne KinCannon, her daughter Lenda Davidson, and her husband Corey Davidson and their children Justin and Ande.

Due to Covid-19, in lieu of services, the family has chosen to have a virtual celebration of life. Richard passed away quietly Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels. He was a favorite with staff and well taken care of the past few years. Born in Olney, Class of 1954, Tarleton State was his alma mater. He moved to the family ranch in Post Oak in 1966 and was a lifelong rancher for over 50 years. He loved his animals and he loved the ranch. He was very active in keeping up with all his friends with the local news and stories. He had a wealth of history in things North Texas.

As always, he would sign off every call with, “Well, I don’t have anything else to tell you”. He was the last of 3 brothers and will join his brother Bill alongside his father and kinfolk in the family cemetery in Hastings, Okla.

Ronald Benjamin Newberry, 80, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 in Graham surrounded by family.

A viewing was held at Coker Funeral Home on Monday, July 6 from 3 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service was held at Christian Missions Church in Jacksboro Tuesday, July 7 with a burial following in Oakwood Cemetery.

Ronald was born on August 31, 1939 to George Oscar Newberry and Grady Inez (McAvoy) Newberry here in Jack County. He married the love of his life Mary Ann Anderson on November 10, 1957. Ronald worked here in Jack County in the Oilfield throughout his life. He loved riding dirt bikes and being with his friends. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Dale Newberry; brothers, Robert Newberry and wife Dixie, Leon Newberry and wife Faye; sister, Joe Newberry and husband Frank.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Newberry; son, Ronald J. Newberry and wife Valorie of Austin; daughter, Liane Horton and husband Babe of Graham; sister, Virgie Johnson; brother, Oscar Newberry and wife Betty; grandchildren, Wacey Horton and wife Christian, Trent Horton, Mason Newberry, Reagan Newberry, Ruby Newberry; great grandchildren, Nicole Richardson, Gracie Ramsey, Harley Horton, and Cabel Horton.

Linda S. Byrnes, 77, of Perrin, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020.

She was born in Long Beach, Calif. on Aug. 19, 1943 to Anabel and Floyd Bailey.

Wife of Donald L. Byrnes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Graveside services will be held on July 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Cotton, Bratton, Oakland cemetery in Weatherford.

Trevia Louise Smith, 87, passed away peacefully July 6, 2020 due to natural causes. She was born April 29, 1933 in Jacksboro to Carl and Ina Ramzy. She married her soulmate Bob J. Smith on May 29, 1971 who preceded her death on August 28, 2015. Trevia and Bob moved to Cushing, Okla. where they resided until Trevia relocated to Owasso, Okla.

Trevia attended Jacksboro schools and graduated as Valedictorian in 1950. She then attended Durham’s Business College in Ft. Worth and received her diploma as an executive administrative assistant in March of 1951. Upon graduation, Trevia was employed by several oil companies in the Jacksboro and Abilene areas for 18 years. Trevia held various positions with Desk and Derrick, including President, and was the delegate to the national convention in New Orleans, La.

Following her marriage to Bob, Trevia obtained her Real Estate Broker’s License in 1976 and sold real estate until 1985 in Cushing, Okla. She qualified for the Million Dollar Club for eight years.

Trevia and Bob purchased a farm east of Cushing in 1978, where they raised registered Black Angus cattle under the name of TreBo Farms. Bob and Trevia sold the farm in 1998 and moved to a new home in Cushing.

Following her retirement from real estate sales, Trevia owned and operated Trevia’s Rag Doll, a children’s clothing store, from 1987 to 1992. Trevia enjoyed genealogy and was an active member of the Cushing Genealogical Society and served as President in 1998. She and Bob traveled across the country documenting her ancestry and was an active member of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughter of the Republic of Texas and First Families of The Twin Territories.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cushing for many years and an avid sports fan who loved watching and supporting Oklahoma high school and college sports programs.

Trevia is survived by her daughter, Lesa Kaye Kinder-Johnson of Arlington, son, Grady Wayne Kinder of Owasso, Okla., son and wife George Randall and Rosa Maria Kinder of Boerne, Texas, stepdaughters Robin and husband Fred Brown of Cushing, Okla. and Darla and husband Steve of Sparta, Wisc.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services celebrating her life were held Friday, July 10 at the Palmer-Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Okla.. Trevia was laid to rest at Euchee Valley Memorial Park in Cushing.

A Viewing was held on Sunday, July 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Coker Funeral Home, Jacksboro. A Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, July 27 at Coker Funeral Home with burial following at Truce Cemetery.

Velma was born to William “Willie” Ogle and Stella Dowdy Ogle on May 25, 1932 in Truce, Texas. She married the love of her life, Earl Gant Clayton on June 3, 1950. Throughout her life, Velma worked several different jobs. She was floor monitor at Bogarts and later became a licensed nurses aid working in nursing homes caring for the elderly. She also loved to cook and was known by those around her for her amazing pies, sweet pickles and unforgettable turkey and dressing. She thoroughly enjoyed being outside in her yard tending to her flowers and fruit trees and was always excited to show off their beauty. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her 4 boys. Velma was a member of the Church of Christ here in Jacksboro.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Jerry and Jimmy Clayton; granddaughter, Mitzi Clayton Janway; and Great granddaughter, Kourtland Curd; siblings, Ernest, Odis, Virgil, James, Johnny Louie, Vernest, Vernie Middlebrooks, Clide, Winnie Fae and Wilburn.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are sons, Mickey Clayton and wife Clarissa of Sulphur Springs, Randy Clayton and wife Mary of Graham; grandchildren, Jeremy Clayton, Angel Clayton, Lon Werner, Mindy Hicks, Bo Clayton, Lee Clayton, Travis Clayton, Lacey Loftis, Jason Clayton and Casey Janway; along with 14 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kimberly Kay Gibby, 60, of Jacksboro, passed away on July 16 in Tioga, Texas.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1959 to Wesley Dean Lunceford and Elsie Pearl (Fisher) Lunceford in Brawley, Calif. Kimberly was a member of Jacksboro Christian Missions and Jacksboro Animal Shelter. She loved animals and cooking.

Kimberly was Editor of Jacksboro Newspaper and worked in the newspaper industry for over 40 years. Kimberly was also the Jack County Treasurer for 8 years.

Kimberly is survived by: Husband, Mykol Gibby of Jacksboro; Daughters, Melynda Hammons and husband, Greg of Tioga, Loriann Ward and husband, Phillip of Whitney and Bethany Brown of Jacksboro; Son, Chris Brown and wife, Laura of Bowie; Step-son, Mykol Gibby and wife, Sarah of Wisconsin, Step-mother, Jackie Lunceford; Brothers, Wesley Lunceford and wife, JoJo, Daniel Lunceford and Stoney Smith; Sister, Charlotte Badgley and husband, Jason; Brother, Kelly Baker and wife, Linda. She has six grandchildren; Ashlyn DoByns, Timothy and Shailee Hammons, Alexander Hammons, Gunter Ward, Emery Moore and Mykol Gibby.

She was preceded in death by, Mother, Pearl Smith; Father, Wesley Lunceford; Sister, Pennie Wagnon and Grandson, Austin Lunceford.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville. A celebration of life will be held on August 1 in Tioga for close friends and family and church services in Jacksboro on August 8. Times TBA.

Verna Mae (Bunny) Stansell passed away July 31, 2020 in Graham. A graveside service was held Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 at the Mountain Home Cemetery in Jack County. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born November 15, 1929 in Jack County and lived in Graham most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Stansell in 2008 and by a son in law, Ronnie Reddell, daughter in law, Phyllis Stansell, three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Reddell; 2 sons, Steve Stansell, Dennis Stansell and his wife Lee Ann; 2 brothers, Harold Tilghman and wife Helen, Glenn Tilghman and wife Vivian; sister, Dora Reynolds; 7 grandchildren, Shane Reddell, Melissa Bloomfield, Trina West, Jesse Stansell, Jennifer Harding, Brady Stansell and Cody Stansell and 17 great grandchildren.
